Remarques & avis / Review — Yves Brayer (1907-1990) n'est plus à présenter : artiste peintre célèbre et apprécié, il fut attiré par le soleil, les paysages et les gens de le Méditerranée — Camargue, Provence, Espagne, Italie, Maroc. Brayer fut en contact avec le Japon grâce à des élèves japonaises de son atelier, comme Minami Takae. En outre, il fut invité au Japon en 1981 à l'occasion d'une rétrospective de ses œuvres, organisée par le Yomiuri-shimbun, dans sept villes japonaises — Japon duquel il rapportera nombre dessins et aquarelles. Un livre voyageur très désirable !
Yves Brayer (1907-1990) is known to all : famous and liked painter, he was drawn by the sun, the landscapes and the people of the Mediterranean sea — Carmargue, Provence, Spain, Italy, Morocco. Brayer was in touch with Japan through his Japanese pupils, like Minami Takae. Moreover, he was invited to Japan on the occasion of a retrospective exhibition organized by the Yomiuri-shimbun in seven Japanese cities in 1981 — from whence he brought back many drawings and watercolor paintings. A very desirable travelling book !
