Remarques & avis / Review — Shinsui ITO (1898-1972) was one of the most renowned nihonga (traditional Japanese painting) painter and ukiyoe (Japanese etching) woodblock engravers of the 20th century, taking part in the movement of Shin Hanga (Renewal of / New Engraving). Is found here what made him famous: his paintings of Japanese beauties, in a superb selection & artbook, finely crafted. A special mention for the fold-outs and beautiful golden printing.
ITO Shinsui (1898-1972) fut l'un des peintres de nihonga (peinture traditionnelle japonaise) et graveur sur bois d'ukiyo-e (estampe japonaise) participant au mouvement Shin Hanga (renouveau de / nouvelle gravure) les plus réputés du XXe siècle.
