Remarques & avis / Review — Takeji IWAMIYA (1920-1989) dedicated himself to capturing Japan's architecture, gardens and traditional crafts, and was fascinated by Kyoto, of which he gives here a splendid overview — the excellent Kyo Iro to Katachi then follows in 1978. Remarkable in all respects : photographs, printing, finishing touch — the b&w prints are outstandingly rendered. One of the most beautiful books about Kyoto.
IWAMIYA Takeji (1920-1989) s'attacha au Japon de l'architecture, du jardins et de l'artisanat traditionnel et fut fasciné par l'ancienne capitale, dont il donne ici un magistral aperçu — suivra par ailleurs l'excellent Kyo Iro to Katachi (1978). Remarquable à tous points de vue : clichés, finition, impression — les impressions en noir sont tout particulièrement réussies. L'un des plus beaux livres-photo concernant Kyoto.
