Remarques & avis / Review — The International Design Institute was founded in 1963 by Isaburo UENO (1892-1972, founding member of the International Architecture Association of Japan and introductor of Modernism in Japan) and his wife Felice 'Lizzi' RIX, as he retired from his teaching position at Kyoto Fine Art School. This is the inaugural issue of the Institute, with manifestos and 10 superb, large original woodblock prints made by UENO's students & fellow researchers. Uncommon.
L'International Design Institute fut fondé en 1963 par UENO Isaburo (1892-1972, membre fondateur de l'International Architecture Association of Japan et introducteur du modernisme au Japon) et son épouse Felice 'Lizzi' RIX, alors qu'il prenait sa retraite de son poste de professeur à l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Kyoto. Ceci est le numéro inaugural de l'Institut, avec manifestes et 10 superbes gravures sur bois originales grand format, réalisées par les élèves et partenaires de recherche d'UENO. Peu courant.
