Ces clichés monochromes nocturnes d'autoroutes et voies rapides japonaises, de parkings, de péages, d'aires de repos, de stations-essence, de toilettes vides, etc., annoncent à plus d'un titre son œuvre actuelle, et sont ici remarquablement imprimés, noirs profonds et détaillés, dans un élégant petit volume. Exemplaire signé.
Here is a collection of early (1982-1986) monochrome works, published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition, by Toshio SHIBATA (1949-), better known for his great landscapes series. These night shots of Japanese high and expressways, car parks, toll interchanges, empty rest stops, gas stations, toilets, etc. announce in many ways his present work and are here remarkably printed, deep and detailed blacks, in a small and elegant volume. Signed copy.
