Girls Blue is HIROMIX's fantastic entrance in photography after she won the 11th Canon New Cosmos of Photography Award / ARAKI Award in 1995, advised by Takashi HOMMA, which generated a real frenzy among young Japanese girls for photo-diary — very fine shots, casual and colorful, full of youth, very Seventies in the spirit, portraits of highschool friends, outings, everyday stuff, and theses superb self-portraits, including that on the reverse of the dustjacket, where she poses topless.
Divers / Misc. — Later printings have spine-strip title in pink, and not blue. The publisher's bellyband is also in pink, and narrower.
"Photography is the only place where I can express all what I feel and think in my everyday life. It would not be understood by grown-ups or kids — only we can see what it is." (HIROMIX, postface)
