Remarques & avis / ReviewWaga Ai, Yoko is the great sequel, published in Asahi's prestigious collection "Sonorama Shashin", of Nobuyoshi ARAKI's real debut Sentimental Journey (1971; PARR BADGER I, 295) that initiated in Japan the subjective genre of "I-Photography" (Shi-Shashin) for which Araki is best known, which considerably blurs the boundary between public and private life, in his case often intertwined with his sexual life. Yoko My Love features a large number of quite raw b&w pictures of Araki's wife Yoko, from 1968 to 1977, including some from the said 1971 opus, that represent and sum up the casual intimacy of her life. A beautiful testimony and photobook to which echoes Sentimental na Tabi: Fuyu no Tabi (1991) at Yoko's death.
