Remarques & avis / ReviewIkko NARAHARA's Spain, his second photobook, is a massive marvel of late 1960s contrasted monochrome photography in three parts: Grand Tarde (Corrida / bullfighting) / Fiesta (The Festivals of Pamplona, Sevilla, Malaga) / Vaya con Dios (The Castle of Alcazar, Ronda, Andalucia). An outstanding photobook of energy, movement, portraits, fiesta & siesta, shadow and light, perfectly crafted — great paper & printing, with very deep blacks, and the shock of those few color photos inside gate-folds. A joy for both the eye and the hand. A special mention for the great book/slipcase design. A personal all-time favorite.
