Remarques & avis / Review — Here is one of my favorite series : the special issues of Taiyo (the Sun), a quarterly — fine and profuse iconography, good printing and paper, and always fascinating, varied and very 'Japanese' topics.
The present issue is dedicated to Haiku, a traditional Japanese poem in 17 syllables (5-7-5), which was in early times a part of a larger collection of poems, the haikai. Are found here, more than abundantly illustrated, the portraits, the writings and the paintings of more than 500 haiku poets, from its fathers Moritake et Sokan, Basho (17e s.) and Buson (18e s.), to modern haiku poets such as Shiki et Hekigoto. A very fine illustrated literary stroll.
Voici une de mes séries préférées : la collection spéciale du Taiyo (le Soleil) trimestriel — iconographie riche et de qualité, bonne facture, sujets variés et toujours passionnants, très "japonais".
Ce numéro est consacré au poème traditionnel japonais de 17 syllabes (5-7-5), le Haïku, historiquement partie introductive d'un ensemble plus vaste, le haikai. L'on trouvera ici, plus qu'abondament illustrés, portraits, écrits et peintures de plus de 500 poètes de haïku, depuis les pères-fondateyrs du genre, Moritake et Sokan, jusqu'aux modernes, comme Shiki et Hekigoto, en passant par Basho (17e s.) et Buson (18e s.). Très jolie promenade littéraire en images.
