Remarques & avis / Review — The first overview of the photographic works of Ihei KIMURA, that covers the 1930s-50s: portraits of novelists and actresses, street photographs, kabuki, Tokyo, Akita, Okinawa (in the 1930s), China (incl. prewar Manchuria), etc. Finely crafted, mostly full-page & full-spread pictures, printed in beautiful and subtle shades of grey. The predecessor and perfect companion to the superb Kimura Ihei no Me (1970). Uncommon in fine condition. An important work and a personal favorite.
