Remarques & avis / ReviewYoshihiko UEDA (1957-) is one of Japan's foremost commercial photographer with a consistant and beautiful personal work. Quinault consists of a shooting of the undergrowth of a rain forest in Washington State — this great series, of eery deep damp blue-greens, was also the occasion of UEDA's first exhibition in Europe (UK). Amagatsu consists of superb portraits of the Butoh dancer Ushio AMAGATSU, his whole body painted cream-color with touches of red, with stunning facial expressions and female costumes over black background. An excellent and underrated volume of the regretted publisher Korinsha's collection "Visions of Japan".
