Remarques & avis / Review — One of renowned photographer and specialist in Japanese religious folkore Masatoshi NAITO's earliest works, a monochrome study on sokushinbutsu, Japanese mummified buddhist 'saints' — monks who practised austerity to death. The plates are gorgeous: fantastic printing with incredibly deep blacks. A important book, rather uncommon, especially in a fine condition.
