The plates are gorgeous: fantastic printing with incredibly deep blacks. A important book, rather uncommon, especially in a fine condition.
L'un des premiers ouvrages du photographe et spécialiste du folklore religieux japonais NAITO Masatoshi, étude monochrome sur les sokushinbutsu, "saints" bouddhiques momifiés du Japon — des moines ayant suivi leurs pratiques d'austérité jusqu'à la mort. Superbes photographies : impression aux noirs d'une profondeur incroyable. Livre important, assez peu courant, particulièrement dans un si bel état.
