This great issue is dedicated to camellias in Japan, as widely-appreciated flowers nowadays and before — 100 varieties are presented here, with beautiful photos by Ken DOMON, and compared with Japanese drawings of the XVIIIth & XIXth centuries — and as a pattern, design and symbol in Japanese folk and industrial arts and crafts (photos by IRIE Taikichi, Yasuhiro ISHIMOTO), close to Japanese of all ages through myths and legends.
