Remarques & avis / Review — True showcase of printing in the Japan of the 1960s and 70s. GAJ is an excellent publication, which joins ground articles (see below) and a great variety of illustrations (silver-gold, in 3D...) and engravings (photo-litho., copper, intaglio, various combinations...). Our favorites in this vol. 13 : a splendid 3-color copper intaglio engraving of the Kotoji Lantern in Kenrokuen Park (Kanazawa), the very "kitsch" Thermo-Printex (heat transfer printing on fabric) ad, showing 1970s girl wearing kimono, the beautiful view of the leaves in fire (kouyou) at the Muroji temple in Nara, six silver stickers in slide size, and the typographic composition towards the end.
Véritable vitrine de l'imprimerie du Japon des années 1960-70. GAJ est une excellente publication, qui associe des articles techniques de fond (voir ci-dessous) et une extrême richesse en tous types d'illustrations (dorées-argentées, en relief...) et gravures (photo-litho., cuivre, intaglio, combinaisons diverses...) avec, en coups de cœur et chefs-d'œuvre de ce vol. 13 : une magnifique gravure sur cuivre en intaglio 3 coul. représentant la lanterne Kotoji du parc de Kenrokuen (Kanazawa), la très "kitsch" publicité Thermo-Printex (impression sur tissu par transfer de chaleur), montrant fille très 70s en kimono, la splendide vue des feuilles en feu (kouyou) au temple Muroji de Nara, les six auto-collants argentés au format diapositive, et la composition typographique en queue.
