Remarques & avis / Review — The masterwork of the Japanese photographer Tad WAKAMATSU (1936-), Ipy Girl Ipy entails several series with the Japanese actress Haruko WANIBUCHI as a leitmotiv: Ipy Girl Ipy — main series that travels through the America of Bikers and Hippies, completed by fantastic nudes in the streets and subway of New York City and in studio (the silhouettes on translucid paper are remarkable) — and Nazaré no Onna (The Woman of Nazaré), a short story that depicts the life of a woman of a fishermen village, from youth and love to old age. Excellent printing, deep blacks and strong contrasts.
